The Japan gold panning committee did a awesome job, in holding the World Gold Panning Championships. It was the best organize event I've attended.Over "200" panners from sixteen countrys took part. The folks from Sweden,Finland & Japan won most of the medals. They did a tremendous job.

I didn't do as well as I wanted to,I got myself eliminated in the second round.I was really disappointed.I'll make up for it in Switzerland. The turnout from Canada was very poor, we had only two competitors.I'm hoping Canada will show up in great numbers this year in Switzerland.

I did pick up one of the fastest pans that i've ever seen, from my friend from Sweden. It's pretty awesome. I'm going to use this pan at the "World Gold Panning Championships" in Switzerland.

Each competitor is given a bucket containing 20 litres of dirt. We pan it out as fast as we can. If we lose a gold flake, you are penalized 5 minutes. We do not know how many flakes are put in our buckets. One needs speed and accuracy to win the Championships.

We always need more Candians to represent Canada and if you would like to, please contact "Yukon Dan".
