Dan Moore (Yukon Dan)

  • Yukon Dan has competed at World & Canadian gold panning championships since 1993.
  • Dan won his first medal in "1998" at the World Gold Panning Championships in California, Dan & four other Canadians won the silver medal at the National Team event.
  • At the World Gold Panning Championships in Poland Dan was given a beautiful crystal cup for having the fastest time for North America, in the year " 2000".
  • Dan attended the Gold Panning Championships at the B.C. Open in "2000" for his very first time, he finished 2nd overall & third at the professional level.
  • At Barkerville at the Canadian National competition "2001" Dan's 3 person team finished First.
  • In Taylor B.C. at the Invitational Gold Panning Championships in "2002" Dan placed 1st & 3rd overall.
  • At the B.C.Open in "2003" Dan finished 2nd in the W.G.P.C. rules competition.
  • Dan won four beautiful gold nuggets at the B.C. Open Gold Rush competition in " 2003".
  • At the Canadian National Gold Panning Championships in Barkerville, "2003" Dan placed 3rd overall.
  • At the Invitational Gold Panning Competition in "2004" Dan finished 1st & 2nd overall.
  • Dan won these two beautiful trophies at the B.C. Open Gold Panning Championships in Cherryville B.C. (May 19th, 2007). He won first overall against the best gold panners from Canada and the U.S. He also won third overall against gold panners in the B.C. Open competition. Dan's two trophies are shown below:
  • "Yukon Dan" won second place at the World Invitational Gold Panning Championships held in Taylor, British Columbia August 4th & 5th "2007". He won this beautiful trophy plus $200.00.

Jackie Moore

  • Yukon Dan's Mom Jackie learned the art of gold panning from Dan seven years ago at the age of "64".
  • Jackie left us on June 21st/04. She is greatly missed!
  • At the Canadian National competition in Barkerville in " 2001 " Jackie placed 3rd in the seniors event.
  • At the Canadian National competition in Barkerville " 2002 " Jackie fininshed 2nd in the seniors event.
  • Jackie won a beautiful gold nugget at the gold rush competition at the B.C. Open in "2003".
  • Jackie finished sixth out of thirty panners half her age at the Swiz Open in Switzerland in "2003".
  • She panned five gallons of dirt in over six minutes to recover nine out of nine flakes.

Ryely Love Moore
"Yukon Dan" is extremely proud of his nephew Ryely Love Moore. He came from Toronto with his dad up to Dawson City, Yukon for the World Gold Panning Championships. "Yukon Dan" taught Ryely the art of speed panning with a flat gold pan from Switzerland and he won 1st prize in the children's category. He had never panned for gold in his short life but he did what Dan told him and he went home with half ounce of gold. Job well done Ryely.

B.C. Open Gold Panning Championships in Cherryville, B.C. (May 19th, 2007)
Yukon Dan is very proud to say he taught five people the art of gold panning, and each one of them came home with a "Gold Nugget" trophy. The five winners that Dan taught are (left to right): Frank Dallaire, Jessica Dallaire, Yukon Dan, Jim Tennent, Chistopher Rennie and Josh Dallaire.

Conner and Jenni Bawtinheimers

"Yukon Dan" is very proud to have met the Bawtinheimers Family at the first ever Gold Panning Championships at Fort Steele "2006". Dan gave them a crash course on speed panning, and the results were amazing: Conner his sister Jenni won First and Third respectively. "Yukon Dan" is extremely proud they both where very good listeners, and now they have beautiful Gold Nugget trophies.

Melissa Vechere

Melissa Vechere met "Yukon Dan" in Barkerville for her first competition & did a outstanding job by placing third in the "2003" Canadian National Gold Panning Competition.

Melissa will be a outstanding gold panner & will do Canada proud.

Allan Ritchie

Allan Ritchie is a fine young lad of twelve years old with a little gold fever inside, with out a doubt he will be one of the best panners Canada has to offer.

Yukon Dan taught the art of speed panning to Allan & with amazing results he placed 2nd at the B.C.Open Gold Panning Championships in "2004".

Allan met Yukon Dan a few months later, this time in Barkerville for the Canadaian National Gold Panning Competition where he finished 2nd.

Noel Wentworth


Noel with his wife Lora holding his Gold Nugget prizes. He finished 1st in the novice division and 2nd at the B.C. OPEN! Awesome Job!

Brett Tobin


Yukon Dan taught Brent Tobin from Austalia the art of speed panning in Japan, he finished 1st in the beginner category.

Jim Tennent


Yukon Dan taught the art of speed panning to Jim Tennent and he finished second in his very first competition. He won an awesome gold nugget for his effort.
Excellent job, Jim. Well Done.

Jeanelle Ritchie


Jeanelle learned the art of speed panning from Yukon Dan, and in her very first gold panning competition she finished in second place!
Her prize was a beautiful Gold Nugget.
